Senior Accounting Specialist

We’re looking for an experienced Senior Accounting Specialist to join our Finance team and support the accounting operations of our growing international business. The role suits a hands-on professional who enjoys owning key processes and improving how things are done in a fast-moving environment.

As a Senior Accounting Specialist, you will be responsible for ensuring accurate financial records, smooth closing cycles, and reliable reconciliations, while supporting continuous improvement in our accounting processes.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of financial transactions, including operating expenses, employee expense reports, and other financial entries.

• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, ensuring timely and accurate processing.

• Actively participate in and support monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes.

• Perform bank reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.

• Perform monthly intercompany reconciliations across legal entities.

• Participate in ferry reconciliation processes and support related analyses.

• Ensure proper documentation and archiving of invoices, reconciliations, and supporting financial records.

• Contribute to process improvements, automation initiatives, and new system implementations to increase efficiency and data accuracy.

• Handle ad hoc accounting tasks and support finance-related projects as needed.

Required qualifications, skills & knowledge

• 6+ years of experience in accounting or finance roles, ideally within an international business.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; professional certifications (e.g., ACCA, CPA) are a plus.

• Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and compliance requirements.

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with Softone or other accounting software is a plus.

• Fluent in English.
